Welcome to the Traditional Latin Mass ...
the most beautiful Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as offered by Catholic Priests for centuries.
o Knowing Latin ... is not necessary. Easy to follow booklets with English on the right and Latin on the left are available as you enter Church.
o The Silence . . . may take some getting used to. And to Whom can you speak in the silence, if not God Himself?
o Dress your Sunday best . . . it's time to visit the King.
o Always bring the children. Never hesitate about leaving them home until they're old enough. You and they will be in good company.
o It bothered me that I couldn't participate ... For me, the most difficult part about attending the Traditional Latin Mass was the lack of participation. I'm one of those who didn't miss a response at Mass. So when I went to my first (since a child) Traditional or Tridentine Latin Mass, it was a bit disconcerting to have nothing to say at all! I did know and understand that the Altar Boys said each response on behalf of the people. That made me feel better but not convinced. Every once in a while I would go back and it got a little better each time, but I still wasn't a regular. ... Then, somewhere along the line, it dawned on me that to entrust my responses to the altar boy was a great sacrifice and an offering to God. I think that was when the tide turned. It was then that I could really "give in" and let God carry me through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. And holy it is. In the quiet reverence of the Traditional Mass, where all are turned toward God, I found that this Mass is truly Heaven on earth. .. a Friend.
